1About this policy
This policy explains how Recourse handles your information. It covers our website at recoursehq.com, our product at app.recoursehq.com, and any related services we provide. In this policy, "Recourse", "we", and "us" mean the team operating those services, and "you" means the person using them.
By creating an account or using Recourse, you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Recourse.
2What we collect
Account information
Your name, email address, and either a password or an identifier from the sign-in provider you use, such as Google. If your sign-in provider supplies a profile picture, we store that too.
Content you provide
Files you upload, including video, audio, slides, documents, and PDFs. Screen and audio recordings you make with our recorder. Text prompts you write. The courses, transcripts, summaries, and other outputs generated from all of the above.
Usage information
Which pages you view, which features you use, what actions you take, and when. We use this to understand what is working and what is broken.
Technical information
IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate region derived from your IP address, and cookie identifiers.
Messages you send us
Support requests, demo bookings, feedback, and anything else you send to us directly.
We do not want sensitive data. Please do not upload health records, government identifiers, payment card numbers, or similar sensitive information. Recourse is an early-access product and is not built for it. See section 5.
3Why we use it
We use your information only for the purposes below.
| Purpose | What that means |
|---|---|
| Run your account | Create and authenticate your account, keep you signed in, show you your library. |
| Process your content | Transcribe, analyse, edit, and generate courses, videos, and other outputs from what you upload or record. |
| Support you | Answer your questions, schedule demos, send service notices about outages, changes, or your account. |
| Improve the product | Understand aggregate usage patterns, diagnose errors, and decide what to build next. |
| Keep it safe | Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents. |
| Meet legal obligations | Respond to lawful requests and comply with applicable law. |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
4AI processing and training
Recourse works by sending your content to AI and media processing providers, generating a result, and returning it to you. That is the core of the product, and it means your content leaves our systems and is processed by the providers listed in section 6.
- We do not use your content to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
- We use our providers under terms that prohibit them from training their models on your content.
- We may review specific content when you ask us for support, or when we are investigating a security or abuse issue.
- Outputs are generated automatically and may be wrong. See section 6 of the Terms of Service.
5Content you upload
You are responsible for what you put into Recourse. By uploading or recording content, you confirm that you have the right to do so.
If your content contains personal information about other people, for example a recording of a colleague or a document with employee names, you are responsible for having a lawful reason to process it and for telling those people. We process that content on your behalf and only to provide the service to you.
Please do not upload material that is confidential to a third party, subject to regulatory restrictions, or that you cannot afford to lose. Recourse is an early-access product and is not the right place for it yet.
6Who we share it with

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Recourse, our users, or the public. If Recourse is ever acquired or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction, and we will tell you before it does.
8Retention and deletion
Recourse is in early access, and we do not guarantee retention, backup, or recovery of anything you upload or create. Content may be deleted, altered, or lost as we rebuild parts of the platform. Please keep your own copy of anything you depend on.
Our intent is to keep your content for as long as your account is active. Beyond that, the following applies:
- We may delete content or accounts at any time, including accounts that have been inactive for an extended period.
- We will try to give you notice by email before deleting an account, but we cannot promise it.
- When you delete content in the product, we remove it from active systems. Copies may persist in backups until those backups expire on their normal cycle.
- When you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your account data within a reasonable period, except anything we are required to keep by law.
- We keep aggregate, de-identified usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you.
To request deletion, email hello@recoursehq.com from the address on your account.
9Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting internal access to people who need it.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away at hello@recoursehq.com if you think something is wrong with your account or if you find a vulnerability.
10Where data is processed
Recourse is built by a team in India and serves users internationally. Your information may be processed in India, in the United States, and in any other country where our service providers operate. By using Recourse you understand that your information will be transferred across borders and handled under laws that may differ from those where you live.
11Your choices and rights
Whatever country you are in, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your account and the content in it.
- Send you a copy of your content.
- Withdraw a consent you previously gave.
- Stop sending you non-essential email.
Email hello@recoursehq.com from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days. We apply the same process for everyone rather than making you prove where you live.
Depending on where you are, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In India that is the Data Protection Board. In the UK and EU it is your national supervisory authority.
12Age requirement
Recourse is a workplace tool for adults. You must be at least 18 to use it. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and if we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has created an account, tell us at hello@recoursehq.com.
13Changes
Recourse is changing quickly and this policy will change with it. When we update it, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell you by email or in the product before it takes effect. Continuing to use Recourse after a change means you accept the updated policy.
